Cecilia Castro Aceves

I am Cecilia Castro-Aceves, a wife and mother of two beautiful children. I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Currently, I am the 6th grade Mathematics and Science teacher at Fort Hancock Middle School. I am thankful for the many factors that gradually contributed for me to become a teacher. These factors include my home environment, work experience, and the passion of serving others.

I have been teaching for 11 years and proud to serve them at Fort Hancock Middle School since it allows me to participate in the formation of new generations. As an educator I have learned that being in the teaching profession does not yield immediate returns on our investment as in other professions I experienced. However, I deposit my investment with the trust that my work will help brighten tomorrow’s sunrise. That is why I commit beyond transmitting knowledge or memorizing but rather build an open mind with a solid character and healthy habits. Equally, I must be careful of not loosing focus that my future and their future are dependent on respect, tolerance and a shared desire for success.

I believe that working together will empower everyone in meeting the expectations that students are to measure up. That is why I look forward to an exciting and successful school year!
