Evangelina Martinez

Hello! My name is Ms. Martinez and I’m the 7th and 8th grade middle school science teacher! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in chemistry and secondary education from the University of Texas at El Paso. I then received my Master’s Degree in Public Administration. I live in El Paso, Texas but I’m actually an East/Central Texas girl. I was born and raised in Sonora, Texas where my mascot was a Bronco, ironically I am now a Mustang!! Before coming to Fort Hancock, I taught High School Science where I also coached cheerleading and was a student activities director. Even though I loved doing extracurricular activities, I am now happy to focus all my attention on teaching my students. My original plan did not involve becoming a science teacher but life had other plans for me and I’m sure glad it did. I could not see myself doing anything other than teaching. I love my job, I love my students and I love sharing my passion for science and the real world with young minds. I love to travel, watch sports, workout, watch movies and spend time with my family and friends. Every year I strive to help students develop a love for science and help them answer questions about the real-world!
